Human Nature S01E03

I like spending time in the forest. I am dreaming of summer nights with singing, dancing, laughter, playing, poetry, and telling stories. I cannot add "daydreaming" here; this seems a weakness of the English language. The single thing to do during our lives is to communicate. We also communicate when we eat or sleep together with other people. We communicate deeply when we make love. (Love doesn't seem something to be made; what beautiful way is there to refer to this in the English language?) It is way too easy to have sex with a woman. We ignore heavily the fact that our nervous system experiences sexual intercourse as a unity that is created for life with one's partner. I do enjoy sexuality, but I stopped fucking some women because that was a mistake. There are also many women whom I find unfuckable. You may have heard other men saying that they wouldn't mate with some (sorts of) women.
It is essential to spend much of one's life among people one likes.
One is raised by a family.
We must allow people to spend their days with whom they please and help them be aware of their choices.
People live in groups.
Each relationship between humans is unique.
I dream of a woman, and this dream includes hardly any images. I have an idea of how she'd make me feel. I dreamt several times of women whom I've never met and with whom I imagined that I would fall in love or I was falling in love.
I haven't communicated clearly with any person who cares about the entire Earth. I see people say on the Internet that they care about the Earth, but we have hardly ever talked. I want to meet people who find it easy to express deep feelings including in public and who let these feelings show in their actions. Now some people are in the streets, shouting that we must help our environment rebalance. I am not there.
Sincerity impresses me. What do people feel? Many times they feel hurt. And we do hurt each other a lot. This is the main cause of death. If we talk more and pay more attention, we understand psychology and situations better, and we hurt less. It becomes more and more difficult for people to hurt us and we have more chances to be fulfilled. Where are the people with more patience and a higher intelligence? Most people are in such a hurry! Why would they pay attention to you when they can look at a screen? How did we ignore each other when there were no screens? We would watch shows and play games. Why live our lives when we can waste them?(!) And after a game or two we'd be in a hurry because we'd need food. And we'd start cursing and we'd make poor relationships traditional. I don't want to live in this tradition. There have always been good relationships, too. I want to live peace with other people. We will respect each other. We will tend to each other's needs. We will listen to each other very carefully. I've met too many people who think that I pay too much attention to them or too much attention in general. While we're destroying everything because we care too little.
My current followers in the social networks do not contact me about doing anything serious. This is not completely true. There seem to be some exceptions on Google Plus. We do hardly any business and nothing for our environment or health. I will keep looking for people who want to make improvements, I will invite them to talks that will be available online, e.g. on my YouTube channel, and I will act together with the most valuable people. Others will follow.
facebook and Google take measures to prevent people from communicating well. I am building applications that will help people communicate very well across the world. I will still use Google services for a while. It is bad that they have disconnected Plus from Hangouts. I will let you use similar applications and also more applications in what combinations you want, so that you reach your goals. One of my goals is to meet people whom I will love. They must write or say something that expresses their love for something or somebody. My team communicates well with you; I know no other team of developers of networking apps who does this.
We use some of the best computers, watch out for advances in their technology and can help you create computing environments that serve you very well.

Human Nature S01E02

I have done something very stupid. I have looked desperately for a woman. I have participated in a Rainbow gathering, but I haven't found her there. In such a gathering, I can spend much time with many women, but in my first gathering of this kind I have been working, at times actually trying to do something that would keep us well.
I have invested many years in finding my woman. This is telling on my psyche. I have dreamt of a family; it's not late, but it is difficult to live without one. During my midteens I thought that I wouldn't have children, that I would even try to live without having my own children. During my youth I simply started feeling like a husband and a father. It was time. I do not oppose this feeling. I have always liked children and I feel like guiding people, especially the younger ones.
I have always felt full of love. I remember fondly the family of my mother's father; I loved some of them; my family broke in several places and ways, so I suffer the consequences of this, but during my childhood in the country I usually felt a loving environment, I felt that people are kind and considerate. I have got the feeling (I don't know from where) that I can do everything for a human being. I care about much more than human beings, but I have been living with the impression that one can help immediately another person to balance. If we do this almost always, we avoid excruciating pain and efforts, because imbalances will not be as serious as death and cancer. Of course we die; I have referred only to deaths caused by behavioral / societal imbalance.
I have not been affected by many deaths, but I know and understand the torment one feels when the life of a loved person ends. When my mother's father died, I did not want to see him. I don't want to ever forgive my parents for having me see him dead. We don't want to remember corpses. I believed them when they called me and told me he had died. His heart had weakened and we knew his life was nearing its end. My relatives criticized my grandfather, Stefan, after he died. I didn't like it. We must talk much more openly about what we don't like. We are too afraid to say what we don't like. We check too early and too little whether our dislike will be supported.
We needn't fear dislikes. Dislikes keep us alive, for instance when we test something for edibility. When we dislike what somebody says or does, we know that that thing causes or can cause an imbalance, or we are afraid that it would cause an imbalance. So many times we don't know for sure! So many times we don't understand things quickly! It is usually natural. We need to understand ourselves. I feel that the current generations are forgetting themselves; we don't understand our behaviors well and are quick to misinterpret. Too anxious, and we're wasting not only our lives, but the entire nature! Life is not something to waste, but something to play away. We're scheming and fighting, while we can do with much less fear. We must teach meeting people. We're too awkward when we meet somebody. People are not out there to hurt you. There is no being or group who attempts restlessly to destroy you. The demise of nature is the human brain's fear of nature.
I am looking for love and imagine that all is full of love. When somebody hurts I try to (learn to) comfort them. We can learn to use plants to help somebody rebalance. I am one of those people who have not been taught to do so. I feel bad that many of us know little about plants. I feel that one can help another person a lot, irrespective of how much help that person needs. One can summon others and work as a team. You can devote years to a person. When you help somebody again, you can become friends for life. This is the usual kind of friendship. They say that one can only start loving somebody. People who love each other will spend time together, so friends make arrangements like eating together often.
In March I wrote that I want to choose attentively with whom I communicate. I decided to participate in a Rainbow gathering that drained my energy. When I returned home, I was thinking that I need a life partner. Yes, it's a compromise, because I would accept spending time with a woman who is not the one with whom I will be in love forever. I have accepted this compromise all my adulthood.
I was impressed by a girl when I was 15 and went on a school camp. I started being overwhelmed by her mere presence. I started dreaming and writing about her. I was not sure that was love. We have not built a relationship. When she started studying in my high-school, we did not communicate for some reason. I have allowed people too many times to generate unclarity and to leave things unclear. For instance, my communication with a young woman of whom I was fond and to whom I made love stopped. I would like to understand that we are too different to be lovers, but we must clarify relationships before we end them. I must talk about this relationship and try without Clara's help to understand what we felt. But we may be missing something when we don't clarify things directly with the people involved, and each of us is responsible, so she should actually talk with me about this. Of course, she can tell our story to a bosom friend, in order to take council and comfort.

Net neutrality

We write a lot on this topic now, as if this were important only now.
Some of us might write out of fear that the communications commission of the USA is helping some rich people charge less rich people more for delivering data to computing devices.
I think that spending time in the streets in Washington (or wherever) doesn't improve the communication between the people and their government.
I've seen too many poor people complaining that rich people destroy their lives. These are usually brief repeated discussions that only touch the surface of problems.
And I've never liked begging. People don't fulfill such requests anyway.

Some companies have asked this commission to support Net neutrality. This letter matters much less than the relationships of these companies with the FCC. Do you know who represents these organizations in these relationships?

If the current communication provisions change and affect Net neutrality, what changes for most Internet users?

Some say that the poorer your team is, the more difficult it will be to offer online services to people. Most people might not care much about this. We are already favoring rich companies. A large number of Internet users neither understand well this network, nor try to keep control of their browsing or privacy.
But more and more people try to decentralize the Internet:
  • I support e.g. the global project MaidSafe.
  • Johannes Ernst has created the Indie Box.
  • Guifi is creating an Internet infrastructure owned by individuals.
I want to build on these new structures a software platform that should include at least:
1. a practical encyclopedia with divisions like arts, social sciences, natural sciences
Some of its goals:
1.1 becoming one of the best knowledge tools
1.2 increasing global awareness
1.3 raising the quality of content
1.4 helping people find faster what they look for
A (possibly new) user of a computing device connects it to the Internet and opens a browsing application. This application, especially Chrome, will probably introduce Google to this person. Google Search helps them find Web sites, especially if the owners have paid for AdWords, but they can get distracted very easily. I want to give people a better map and guidelines so that they can focus better. I want to help people realize what is essential or urgent, so that they improve their lives and their environment.
At the same time, it's tiresome to spend many hours looking every time you want to buy something. I want to give buyers and sellers better tools.

2. an obviously better networking platform
Some of its goals:
2.1 helping people to communicate more like they communicate offline
2.2 enabling improvements in any and all countries

3. a complex voting application
I want to help people vote on anything and everything.
I like that Loomio stresses the fact that we need to consult before making decisions.

4. a software suite that should meet the needs of artists and entertainers better than current services
I would connect it with the encyclopedia of arts.
Agents should help artists and art buyers. Some of them hurt the interests of these two categories. I can create a better agent, as I've done in the language service industry.

5. a global payment service
Online payments should be safer, simpler and cheaper.

I want to reach USA citizens, but I might declare myself pleased with reaching 200 other countries at least as easily as the USA. How would a less neutral USA Internet affect the Internet?
I think that we should create software that can be used globally, so that we don't have dozens of applications doing the same things, and create customized versions for any teams who require it.
We should also optimize software, because people usually cannot switch to another software application only to use a function that is missing in the current one.

Laws and facts are different things. You don't need a law in order to do something, e.g. Netflix pays more to deliver content, but Comcast has not been proven to have violated any law. Some people get away with violating laws; some useless people receive money from them for merely being let know that laws are violated. I suggest that we spend more time on useful deeds than on useless words.

If no Internet communication provisions are changed

The people who push for changes against Net neutrality will negotiate either indirect provisions, so that one can imagine that they act legally, or business terms that will increase their profit anyway.
Most citizens are not left out; they are usually not in the circles of the most influential decision-makers. I suggest that we exert all the influence we can, so that the ripples have a strong effect. If you know a Comcast shareholder, can you talk with him? If not, we can make computing more useful where we are.because I want to effect important improvements.
We solve problems by communicating. 2.9 billion people can communicate easily over the Internet; more than 1.6 billion of them already have a Google account, but all of them can use software like Google Hangouts and Jitsi. I suggest that we create waves of influence and organize actions (not walks and runs) instead of signing petitions and giving money to teams that might be charitable.
A Google Plus community in which we can plan a better Internet is Independent Internet.

I want us to use these means today. This context is unique. We can use the Internet as long as we can use electrical energy, which is usually generated by extracting and burning coal and gas. Not all countries have coal and 1.3 billion people don't have access to electrical energy. There is no guarantee that the number of Internet users will exceed 50% of the population. Let us use the chance to coordinate globally now!

You shape our business

When you buy our services you shape our business.
You can also discuss the following things with us.

We have chosen the brand Bopp.
  • Franz Bopp was a linguist with important studies on the Indo-European languages. We share with him the interest in the history of languages and civilization.
  • Hale-Bopp was the most widely observed comet during the 20th century. We encourage people to gain knowledge of the universe.
  • Bopp is also a name for unconventional online trading. We support people who improve online trading and we accept bitcoins.
How do you like our brand?

You can see it on our Google Plus page. Would you associate it with a united and colorful globe?

How do you feel when you visit our website?
We will improve it and take into account how you want to use it.

You can start many discussions with us. The starting point of these discussions can be an article that you ask us to write or an article of yours that you ask us to post. What discussions do you want to have on our blog?

You can join our Google Plus community about language services.
Do you want us to create a private community, with only Bopp service providers, clients and customers?

What software do you like?
For communication we recommend Google services.
For translation management we recommend e.g. SDL applications.
What applications do you prefer for file transfers and collaboration?

How do you like to pay online?
There are more and more services, the most popular being PayPal.

We're really good at putting your money to work, so you enjoy the highest quality possible.
We want to invest the profit mainly in optimizing our services.
Do you want us to invest a small share of your pay in other things?
If yes, which are these? Environmental protection, healthcare, child welfare or other things?
We can also return that money to each of you or by drawing prizes.

about translation, the most difficult work / part 5

During my translator career I haven't liked these things:
  • disrespect toward linguists, clients and translation users
  • too little communication
  • Procedures were incomplete or unclear, or they were introduced late instead of being agreed upon in the beginning.
  • poor payment
  • In many cases, clients themselves didn't care much about translations. We should serve people only when those services are useful to them.
I have translated mainly for companies, usually for companies that destroy the environment.
We must preserve our environment. It actually preserves itself; we hardly ever need to do anything.
I would have gladly translated for better purposes. They would have had to pay me. Where does money come from? If they don't steal the money (as governments do), whoever pays me must provide a service.

How do we provide services?

In natural ways:
  • We talk: teachers, speakers, advisers, sellers, clerics
  • We walk.
  • We think: planners, doctors
  • We sing.
  • We dance.
  • We act.
  • We practice sports.
  • We carry things around.
  • We kill.
In strange ways:
  • We burn plants, coal, oil, gas.
  • We breed animals: e.g. to draw carts
  • We use tools and devices, usually with our hands: e.g. to kill, cut, dig, join, write, play music, tend fields
  • We initiate unnatural chemical processes.
Most of the time I have translated for people from the second category. I haven't translated for the military. I could translate more and more, or only, for people who earn their money (mainly) in natural ways. I could work for people who communicate, guide and entertain. How do their payers earn their money? Usually by destroying the environment. (If I don't translate e.g. only for doctors who treat only artists.)
What if I don't choose clients, but the purposes of translations?
Translations are usually done in order to (instruct people to) destroy the environment.
I could translate e.g. scientific and artistic texts (including movie lines) that are meant to educate and entertain. But the users of such translations destroy the environment.
Translations are natural, but we live in a time of self-destruction.
Whatever one does for somebody, people are originally paid to destroy.

What do we pay for?

1. We pay for air because we pay taxes to be in a certain place, e.g. a tax on land.
2. We pay for water.
3. We pay to pee and shit.
4. We pay for food.
I find this wrong. All other beings simply eat. Some people simply eat. Others provide a service, receive money (or figures in a computer network) and give the money to people who grow more food than they need. Much soil and many plants are wasted like this.

What do food providers buy?

We can imagine a farm that has enough land; seeds and cattle can multiply every year. The farm owners pay some fellow villagers to work with them. Villagers need what everybody needs:
  • air: available everywhere
  • water
  • food
  • clothes
  • shoes
  • shelter
  • entertainment: It is easy to play and make merry.
Farms are in places where one finds water and food and the raw materials for clothes, shoes and shelter.
Farmers use tools; the raw materials for tools can be found easily.
If farmers miss anything, they can trade something for it. Nature is rich.
I doubt that villagers need anything and I know that they trade with the people from their region.
Villagers trade plants (including clothes, timber etc.) and animals (including milk, wool etc.).
They don't need to sell things because they don't need to buy things.
But they accepted money from towners, who took the natural products to towns.
When towners came in the 1950s to my great-grandparents' village with electrical energy, they asked their slaves to become lower slaves and beg at a network end for fireballs in the evening. My great-grandparents hadn't needed anything. But they agreed together with many other peasants to intensify destruction. They weren't really aware of what they were doing. They were asked for money and they sold plants and animals at the nearest marketplace. Bad thinkers had interfered.

Why does a community not have enough plants and animals?
  • Are they in the poorer place? At least some people should move.
  • Was there a drought or a plague? They would recover soon.

Merchants ventured far abroad and learned new languages.
Grown-ups share their experience with children, but it's a weakness taken to the extreme to show people e.g. plants that grow thousands of miles away from them. It is also a weakness to desire such things.
It is natural to roam, but I find it wrong to be proud of your settlement when you roam.
We must avoid fear. It is wrong to travel with goods in fear for your life.
We suffer from a disease the name of which can be avarice. We heap things. Some animals do so moderately and sometimes within (for hibernation). We probably fear exaggeratedly famine and nature in general.
This fear can be related to such things:
  • We have less hair.
We are the only species that cover their bodies for so long. Are we scared to death for no good reason?
Can we live with hardly any cover? Yes, at least in the warmer regions.
I want to make myself more resistant to more difficult weather and to wear only natural fibers.
  • We are the most fearful beings.
We seem more wary than other beings.
If we are changed apes, how have these apes started to be so afraid? Have they roamed far and wide?
I don't know whether other animals imagine things in woods and steppes. But they don't seem to spend their lives sick with fear that hidden, unseen beings kill them in the dark.

Most people are afraid and the slaves of more fearful people. The more natural resources you want, the more afraid you are.

5. We pay for clothes.
We can make them out of wild plants.

6. We pay for housing.
We can build houses with wild plants and earth.

Nature cannot be replaced with its symbols, e.g. money. Our brain imagines and we need to improve our perception.
Why have we gone from a quite healthy way of life to a very destructive way of life?
One answer can be something along these lines: Atomized knowledge has grown out of misguided curiosity taken to the extreme. Idiots like Tesla have instrumented the destruction of nature; his name can be translated anyway as victory of the people with this trimming tool:

about translation, the most difficult work / part 4

Translation agencies

Could care more about communication

Sometimes, the manager of a translation project does not transmit everything that the two parties (the translation buyer and the linguists) write each other, or they distort their messages.
We seem to pretend not to understand that we cannot really rule how people behave. We cannot rule how such project managers behave. But I recommend that they follow healthier communication principles. They are to help the service provider and the service buyer communicate if they want good results and a good trade.

I find it disrespectful that some agencies are less responsive to linguists when they don't have an order for them. Oftentimes project managers hardly have time to do more than what is urgent. But a business should increase its resources so that it deals with everything.
Too many project managers are mediocre communicators.
My solution
We want to reply to each person who addresses us respectfully, to express ourselves clearly and to schedule things clearly. Our account managers pledge to communicate respectfully with all stakeholders and to show linguists the deserved respect.

Many people think they can do international business, but some project managers don't even write English well.
My solution
Our team members command the language in which you choose to communicate with them.

Linguists are asked to communicate with rather many project managers.
My solution
Changing account managers should be avoided; when they are changed, adaptation must be supported.

Project managers usually send translators e-mails, as if those were the only form of communication. E-mails cannot cover all business communication.
My solution
We invite each person, e.g. each linguist, to talk with us. Internet calls are part of our recruitment process.
(We share only with linguists a part of our procedures for communicating with them.)

Some project managers find it difficult to use a mailing service.
My solution
My team uses advanced communication and collaboration software, so we hire people who can use it.

A new fashion has developed during recent years: Some translation agencies take orders from translation agencies. In rare cases, even a third agency mediates the transaction. I like helpful business. When a person (or a team) needs something, give them the best! (Well, the best that they accept.) Increasing the number of agencies worsens communication. Translation is mainly about communication.
My solution
My team doesn't take orders from translation agencies. We take orders from clients. We can take orders from content managers like Xerox because our services are included in content management and teams like Xerox sell the entire service package.

Could improve their procedures

Many agencies ask a translator to translate several hundreds written words and ask an opinion of a translator they trust. Sometimes they communicate this opinion to the tested translator. But this translator has no saying in this, so the agency is usually no judge of the translators they hire.
My solution
We schedule conferences with translators and arbitrate such discussions.
But, when a translator has translated millions of words and can prove it, why would anyone ask him to translate 300 more words? He can show samples.

placing orders

Some project managers attach some files to an e-mail and ask linguists to process the files and send them back in n days. Orders can be placed informally, but this unprofessional manner can cause damages.
Other project managers send orders with too little data.
My solution
We discuss every order in detail and archive order files. Linguists execute orders after they understand them entirely.

quality management

Many agencies ask translators to edit poor translations or to use poor translations (in translation memories). How do they choose those first translators? Why perpetuate stupidity and proliferate incorrect documentation?
My solution
We don't force linguists to use resources like translation memories. They are free to accept them to any extent they recommend. We assess more objectively and more precisely the quality of translations.

Translation agencies hardly ever consider translation users. For instance, they don't care much to what purpose the order is placed and who the translation is done for.
My solution
We want to know the writers and the readers of the documentation that we process because we aim to assure a high quality of the entire content management and communication cycles.

Many agencies pay rather little

Many agencies push prices down.
My solution
We decelerate this trend. We promote the best linguists and do not impose prices. Of course, we fulfill the role of a negotiator, so that clients can trade with linguists.

Many agencies keep more than 50% or 60% of what clients pay. This percentage is sometimes shared between two intermediaries. What other things do you buy with such sales commissions?
My solution
We have high costs and pay high taxes and we'll lower at least the costs. But we always cost you less than many other agencies; we keep enough to serve you excellently.

Some agencies pay late

Agencies usually pay promptly after they receive the money from the client, but they have accepted longer and longer delays.
My solution
International money transfers take minutes. We must not look for reasons that they should take months.

Few agencies avoid paying

Groups of translators, e.g. on LinkedIn, discuss such cases. I have refused orders from agencies that haven't paid for all the orders executed by linguists. To some I have written that I can start executing their order after I receive the invoiced amount; they have never placed an order with me. Why wouldn't they trust a linguist that has never defaulted?
